Summer weeks inspired by Taizé
Hello there! In December, I moved to the French countryside. I dream of a simple life, close to nature and shared with others. Taizé is where this dream began for me. That’s why I think it would be wonderful to start my French adventure this summer with a few weeks inspired by Taizé’s spirituality.
What does that mean? A week together in the French countryside: enjoying the surroundings and the garden, meaningful conversations, prayers, cooking together, and sitting around the campfire. But also space for silence and reflection. I warmly invite you to my little farmhouse! The renovation of the house is not completely finished yet, but I would love to welcome you here this summer.
For whom?
For anyone who feels at home with the spirituality of Taizé but is looking for more peace, depth, and flexibility than the busy summer weeks there offer. There is no fixed program – we will shape the week together! We have three prayers per day (one in the village church), cook together, engage in discussion groups, and explore the surroundings. I’m happy to share my French life with you!
I have four rooms with a total of eight beds available. Prefer camping? You can also bring your own tent. We keep it small-scale so that there is enough peace and space for reflection and personal time.
Creating together
I believe we can create the best weeks if we all contribute. So, if you’d like to share something, let me know! A creative workshop, singing, making flower crowns – let’s create something beautiful together. For example, I would love to give a yoga class!
The week will look something like this:
8:00 am – Morning and breakfast in silence, at your own pace
9:30 am – Prayer in the village church
10:30 am – Discussion group
12:00 pm – Prayer followed by lunch
2:00 pm – Volunteer work on the farm (e.g., in the vegetable garden)
4:00 pm – Rest, time for workshops, cooking together
7:00 pm – Dinner followed by prayer
Dates & price
July 20 – 27 (Week 1)
August 10 – 17 (Week 2)
August 24 – 31 (Week 3)
The week runs from Sunday to Sunday, but if it suits you better, you can also arrive on Saturday.
A week costs €150, including all meals and, if needed, a ride from the station. If this is a financial obstacle, let me know – we’ll find a solution together!
Location
The address is: 8 Villemont, Saint Sornin Leulac. The closest train station is La Souterraine. I’ll gladly pick you up there!
Taizé is about a 3.5-hour drive from here, so you could combine a week with me with a week ‘actually’ in Taizé.
